Why StandUP
StandUP Ltd is a creative education company dedicated to empowering young people to thrive, not just survive. Through our Drama School, we build confidence, creativity and performance skills in a fun and inclusive environment. Our StandUP College offers industry-led training in acting, TV and film, preparing students for professional and higher education pathways. Alongside this, our Alternative Provision supports children and young people who struggle in mainstream education, providing tailored academic and vocational programmes that re-engage learners and help them achieve success both in and beyond the classroom.
StandUP Alternative Provision
StandUP Ltd works closely with Essex County Council and Lincolnshire County Council to offer bespoke educational support for children and young people unable to attend mainstream school. Our personalised 1:1 tutoring, creative engagement sessions, and confidence-building programmes help students re-engage with learning and develop essential social and communication skills. With qualified teachers and experienced practitioners, we focus on helping each learner feel safe, valued, and ready for their next steps in education.
StandUP Drama School
StandUP Drama School is where our story began — a creative hub where young performers build confidence, communication skills, and industry-ready talent. We provide professional training in acting, TV & film performance, and presenting skills, with opportunities to take LAMDA exams, attend industry workshops, and perform in at least two major shows a year, including our much-loved annual Pantomime. Whether students dream of a career on screen or simply want to grow in confidence, our Drama School is a place where every young person can shine.
StandUP College
Our newest development, StandUP College, provides a clear professional pathway into the performing arts industry. We deliver the RSL Extended Diploma in Acting, equivalent to three A-Levels, to students across Essex. This course offers intensive practical training, real-world industry experiences, and opportunities to build professional portfolios — supporting students to progress into university, drama school, or creative careers. StandUP College empowers passionate young actors to turn their ambitions into reality.
